China News Service, Hechi, August 2 (Wang Lichen) The rolling hills are lined with buildings, flat roads, and the city is vibrant and clean. This is what the reporter saw in the Bama Yao Autonomous County, Hechi City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Recently, the “Entering New State-owned Enterprises and Witnessing the Beautiful Countryside” event organized by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and China Metallurgical Group entered the Bama Yao Autonomous County, Hechi City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Once here, the mountain roads were rugged and the cliffs were steep, and it was difficult to guarantee the production and life of local residents.

Now, with the advancement of old city reconstruction and relocation projects, Bama Yao Autonomous County has completely taken off the status of a poor county in May 2020.

At the site of the Bama Liuneng Immigration New City Relocation Project for Poverty Alleviation and Relocation (hereinafter referred to as the "Bama Relocation Project"), the reporter saw the words "Move out of the mountains, towards happiness" printed on each building.

According to reports, it is the largest ex-situ poverty alleviation and relocation project in Bama Yao Autonomous County undertaken by China No. 20 Metallurgical Group, a subsidiary of China Metallurgical Group, with a total construction area of 106,009 square meters.

The 36 multi-storey buildings can provide 984 sets of resettlement houses to settle more than 3,000 people and allow nearly 200 children to bid farewell to the high and steep slopes, winding and rugged roads to school, and realize their dream of going to school at home.

Luo Guoxin, who moved out of Zimao Village, Yandong Township, Bama Yao Autonomous County, told reporters that he had lived in a mountain with a high altitude, and his house was dark and damp and leaking rain. He could only rely on farming to make ends meet.

Now I live in a building built on the hillside and opened a small shop in Bama County to start a small business.

Luo Guoxin said with emotion: "I never dreamed that I could live in such a good house!"

The reporter at Bama Tourism International No. 1 Junior High School found that the campus is full of trees, the environment is clean and tidy, and it has ethnic elements unique to Guangxi ethnic minorities. People have to look back at this school in the mountains.

It is understood that the No. 1 Junior High School in Bama International Tourism Zone covers an area of 109 acres, has 60 teaching classes, and can accommodate more than 3,000 students.

School projects such as the expansion of the No. 1 Junior High School in Bama International Tourism Zone undertaken by China 20th Metallurgical Group have effectively solved the educational problem of local children’s difficulties in going to school.

Huang Fushan, the vice principal of the First Junior High School of Bama International Tourism Zone, told reporters that the enrollment scale of the school has now increased to 3,000, which has further improved the level of basic education facilities in Bama and the enrollment rate of poor students who have established files and registered cards.

“398 graduates of last year were admitted to Bama High School, accounting for 66.3% of the 2019 graduates.” (End)
