Some people who are obliged to declare their taxes probably got a shock when they looked at their calendars in the past week.

July 31st is usually the deadline by which the tax documents for the previous year must be submitted to the tax office.

Unless a tax advisor or an income tax aid association helps.

Then the taxpayer has more time.

In the corona pandemic, however, the financial administration is lenient. The deadline for submission has been extended by three months. Taxpayers in Hesse now have until November 1st. The people of Rhineland-Palatinate are even more lucky, as November 1st is a public holiday, so they don't have to submit the documents until November 2nd. Anyone who engages a tax advisor can take their time until May 31, 2022.
