The authorities in the Rome region cannot believe it.

It is a powerful attack, unprecedented in an administrative seat in Italy,

" they said in unison.

Hackers may have used ransomware, according to cybersecurity experts.

A type of malware that exploits security holes to block computer systems and demand ransom to unlock them.

An investigation was opened by the public prosecutor's office in Rome and the postal police to try to identify the perpetrators of the attack.

This has completely blocked the platform for making an appointment to be vaccinated against Covid-19 in a center near his home.

The track of a hacking linked to anti-vax and anti-sanitary pass movements is not ruled out.

Especially since the measures to

extend the health pass

to many leisure activities will come into force on August 6.
