"In the evening of August 1 ... a message was received about the discovery of the body of a 44-year-old man with multiple injuries near the village of Zapadnovka, Gorodishchensky district of the region," the message says.

As noted, a procedural check was organized on this fact.

"Presumably, the victim found the ammunition, but he did not report his find to the law enforcement agencies, trying to disassemble them on his own, as a result of which he triggered the operation of one of the shells," the UK said.

The circumstances of the incident are currently being established.

Earlier it was reported that military sappers defused an artillery shell from the Stalingrad times, discovered in the Volgograd village of Angarsk.
