In total, the Police Authority in Eskilstuna has since April received 13 reports in which mainly young people had their private electric scooters robbed during an ongoing journey, something that Eskilstuna-Kuriren was the first to report.

- It is an increase from basically nothing, we have not had these electric scooters and especially not to this extent in Eskilstuna, says Peter Bergkvist, group manager in mass crime at the police in Eskilstuna.

Young victims and perpetrators

According to the police, these are mainly young people, both victims and perpetrators.

- It has even happened through group pressure where several people walked alone on the bike, says Peter Bergkvist.

Difficult to identify

Since electric scooters, unlike other vehicles, do not have a frame number or other marking, it is difficult for the police to identify stolen vehicles, says Peter Bergkvist.

Nothing else should have been stolen in connection with the attacks.

- You would think so, but we have not been able to see such a pattern.
