Anti-health pass demonstrations: protesters believe in a "rise in power"

"Nothing can excuse verbal and physical violence", wishes first to specify the elected representative of La Manche.

But for him, the importance of the mobilization for three weeks is "the demonstration of a deep attachment to freedoms" on the part of the French, even if this attachment is "undoubtedly misguided in certain respects".

"We must give every chance to this health pass"

Because Philippe Bas, if he calls for "finding the right balance between disciplines, constraints, and the demand for freedom", supports the extension of the health pass.

"Faced with the outbreak of the Delta variant, we can not do nothing", he believes, because "this race of speed between the Delta variant and the vaccination, it is the delta variant which is in the process of to win".

For the guest from Europe 1, "we must give every chance to this health pass", because "if it is not the health pass, it can only be confinement or curfew, and it is necessary absolutely avoid it ".

A "chaotic" management of the crisis by the government

Still, the scale of the demonstrations is a reminder that in part of the population, the battle is far from won for the government. "In recent years, the yellow vests crisis and the fairly chaotic management of the health crisis have had a negative effect on confidence", analyzes Philippe Bas, insisting on the importance of "reestablishing this bond of trust". "It is not the police and gendarmes who will ensure that we respect the disciplines, but the acceptance of these disciplines by each French," he adds.

"The situation of the country, of the epidemic, makes it absolutely necessary to re-establish a bond of confidence with the French", insists Philippe Bas, because "without this confidence, there is no possibility that all the disciplines that must absolutely be respected are really ".
