Most of the post-covid patients receive care at the primary care, but in Umeå they have started a pilot project with a clinic that will care for patients with special needs.

- In a few weeks, the team has received 35 referrals to the reception.

This is a temporary activity to assess and learn more about these patients' problems and what rehabilitation needs there may be, says Solveig Hällgren, medical director.

"Too early to say anything"

Although many have been diagnosed with post-covid, it is far from all patients who need specialist care, so it is too early to say anything about the capacity of the clinic.

- We work based on the conditions we have.

There have been more referrals than we thought in the first few weeks, but we do not know if there is a "pent-up need".

We have not compiled any information yet, but our experiences will be part of the basis for assessing the need for resources, says Solveig Hällgren.

The reception is closed during the summer holidays and will be evaluated in early autumn.
