Öland's Harvest Festival was canceled last year, as were most public events.
But this year they are driving again, and this year's edition will be the 24th in order.
The interest seems great: the traffic on the harvest festival's website is greater than usual and exhibitors and organizers are on their toes.
- We always have a good response from the islanders - they are fantastic when it comes to the harvest festival.
And this year they were even a little faster, says Pia Axelsson.
Record number of visitors
And even those who are traveling are expected to be many.
In a normal year, about a quarter of a million people visit the event.
The pressure on the web - and the fact that the printed free newspaper is used, indicates that there may be a record number of visitors this year.
- It can happen, the interest is huge, says Pia Axelsson.
Covid-safe harvest festival
But the easing restrictions and with the hope that further restrictions are gone by the last weekend in September, it is said from the harvest festival that it will be possible to implement in a covid-safe way.
- I know that the islanders have lived with this since the beginning of the pandemic and adapted in a fantastic way.
