The Russian military announced that a Su-35S plane crashed in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk in eastern Russia after one of its engines failed, noting that its pilot survived the accident.

The Russian RT channel quoted an army statement as saying that the accident occurred while the plane was carrying out planned training flights.

"According to preliminary information only, the plane crashed in the waters of the Sea of ​​Okhotsk," the statement continued, adding that its pilot jumped with a parachute and was found by a search team and taken to the base, and nothing threatens his health.

The Eastern Military Region Command added that an ad hoc committee affiliated to it has started an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
