During the day, an interrogation was held with the man who is arrested on suspicion of the murder in Luleå.

The deceased woman has been identified and relatives have been notified of the death, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

- All available resources have worked with this event since the alarm came in.

Now we have taken all possible investigative measures, said Karin Markaberg who is head of the investigation section in the Norrbotten police area, earlier on Saturday.

Continued investigation work

The police consider it an isolated incident and see no reason for the public to worry.

The investigation work will continue during the weekend.

- During the weekend, the investigation continues with interrogations, technical investigations and other usual preliminary investigation measures, says chamber prosecutor Jonas Fjellström, in a press release from the Public Prosecutor's Office.

People who were in the vicinity during Friday evening between 10 pm and 11 pm are urged to contact the police.

According to the police, the man and the woman should not have had a close relationship.

- We are still early in the investigation and what we can say is that they are not in a close relationship, but what relationship they have otherwise we can not comment at this stage, says Karin Markaberg.

The lawyer: "Have talked to him"

Magnus Müchler is the arrested man's lawyer.

He has been in contact with his client but does not want to say how the man reacts to the accusations.

- I have not been involved in his being notified of suspicion, so I do not know what he is suspected of.

I know that there is an investigation into suspected murder, but I have not heard the exact description of the crime and I have not heard his answer to it, says lawyer Magnus Müchler.
