“Subdivisions of the peacekeeping formation and special purpose brigades of the Central Military District completed their regrouping at the Termez training ground to participate in a joint exercise with the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” Interfax reports.

As noted, the military and weapons were delivered to the republic by an Il-76 aircraft.

The maneuvers will be held from July 30 to August 10 in the Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan, about 1.5 thousand servicemen of the two countries are participating in them. 

Earlier it was reported that about 1 thousand Russian military will take part in a trilateral exercise in Tajikistan, 20 km from the border with Afghanistan. In total, almost 1.5 thousand military personnel from Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and 300 units of weapons and military equipment will be involved in the events.
