In response to the Tokyo Prosecutor's Office's decision that the non-indictment was unreasonable for the accusation of former Prime Minister Abe over the social gathering held the night before the "Sakura wo Miru Kai" The opposition party has decided to urge Mr. Abe to promptly convene an extraordinary Diet session, saying that it is necessary to invite him to the Diet.

Former Prime Minister Abe paid a part of the expenses for the social gathering held the night before the "Sakura-mirukai" because he suspected that he would violate the Public Offices Election Act due to illegal donations to voters. Regarding Mr. Abe's accusation and non-indictment, the prosecution examination committee in Tokyo voted that "non-indictment is unreasonable", and the prosecution will be re-investigated.

Mr. Abe said on the 30th, "I know that the prosecution's rigorous investigation has resulted in a decision not to prosecute. I would like to keep an eye on the authorities' response in the future."

In response to this, the opposition party has decided to urge the extraordinary Diet session to be convened promptly, saying that it is necessary to clarify the suspicions by inviting the Diet, such as summoning Mr. Abe's witnesses.

On the other hand, the ruling party said that Mr. Abe has fulfilled a certain level of accountability, such as answering questions from each party at the end of last year, and that the investigation should be watched over for the time being.
