Those who are currently on vacation also want to have a good fall and a good winter

."

Vice-Chancellor Olaf Scholz was referring to fears of a fourth wave of the pandemic.

Berlin fears that people returning from vacation or tourists will increase the number of infections as in the summer of 2020. The new rules were to come into force at the start of the school year.

But the holidaymakers already returning for part, they are valid from this Sunday, August 1.

Anyone entering from Sunday on German soil over 12 years old (no longer only by plane but also by train or car) must fail to be vaccinated or cured, produce 1 test (antigenic - 48 h; PCR - 72 h) Not valid for cross-border workers and transit travelers

Test requested

for vaccinees coming from high risk areas

The obligation for unvaccinated or cured people to produce a recent antigen test or PCR before flying to Germany is extended to all travelers and therefore also to those traveling by train or car.

The rule applies to those over 12 years old with exceptions for cross-border workers and travelers in transit.

A test will also be required of vaccinated people coming from high-risk areas such

as Brazil

or South Africa.

Systematic checks on trains and on roads will not be possible, but fines of up to 25,000 euros are intended to deter those who wish to ignore the new rules.
