From Friday, July 30, Moscow will abolish the requirement for the mandatory use of gloves on transport, in shops and other public places.

This is stated in the decree of the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin.

“At the same time, the use of respiratory protection masks is still mandatory.

We must maintain this most important barrier to the spread of the virus until the number of new cases of the disease is reduced to minimum values, ”Sobyanin wrote in his blog.

According to the mayor, in recent weeks, the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection in Moscow has improved significantly.

“Thanks to mass vaccinations and other preventive measures, the number of newly diagnosed cases of covid has decreased 2.2 times, the number of hospitalizations - 1.6 times compared with the peak values in the second half of June,” he said.

Sobyanin also urged Muscovites not to postpone the decision on vaccination, which will help "bring the end of the pandemic closer."

The day before, in an interview with the Russia 1 TV channel, the mayor of Moscow stressed that the city had passed the “peak level” of COVID-19 morbidity.

COVID-19 statistics in Russia

The daily increase in cases of coronavirus infection in Russia amounted to 23 564. Moscow (3481), St. Petersburg (1916) and the Moscow region (1453) are still leading in terms of the number of detected cases.

In total, 6,242,066 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the Russian Federation since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to Johns Hopkins University, Russia ranks fifth after the United States (34.75 million), India (31.57 million), Brazil (19.84 million) and France (6.14 million).

Over the past 24 hours, 20,485 people were discharged from hospitals in Russia, and over the entire period the number of recovered patients reached 5,588,848. 794 patients died from complications that developed against the background of COVID-19 and concomitant diseases in the last 24 hours, the total number of deaths reached 157771.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, more than 164.7 million laboratory tests for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus have been performed in the country, more than 1.2 million people remain under medical supervision.

The Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, signed a decree that allows food courts in shopping centers and outdoor attractions to resume operations, subject to a number of requirements.

Thus, the owners of attractions need to receive a unique QR code (through a specialized application of the Single Portal of State and Municipal Services) and update the standard of safe activities.

At the same time, most of the restrictions in force in St. Petersburg, introduced to combat coronavirus, have been extended until August 29.

In turn, the chief physician of the City Clinical Hospital No. 40 in Kommunarka, Denis Protsenko, spoke about the differences in the next wave of coronavirus incidence.

According to him, at present, a more severe course of the disease is observed in young patients.

“The virus is mutating, now in 90% of cases we see the Indian strain“ delta ”.

Its first feature is a severe course in young patients, while in the first and second waves, the elderly with concomitant diseases were more often ill, ”said Protsenko.

According to him, the second feature is the rapid deterioration of the condition, the volume of lung damage is rapidly growing.

In addition, he said, there is a group of patients who do not respond to the usual treatment protocols that are effective against the first strains.

The specialist also reminded of the need to observe precautions until the completion of the full vaccination cycle.

“Vaccination and immunity building are not equal to protecting against infection.

The fact of infection cannot be prevented, but vaccination guarantees minimization of the severe course of the disease.

Vaccination is the key to stopping the mutations of the virus and ending the pandemic, ”stressed Protsenko.

At the same time, he explained that persistent immunity does not have time to form after vaccination with the first component, therefore, citizens who received the first vaccination must follow the recommendations of doctors.

The corresponding decree of the chief sanitary doctor of Russia was published on the portal of legal information.

Preliminary results of the study of the combination of drugs "Sputnik V" and AstraZeneca

The Russian Direct Investment Fund reported that the preliminary results of the world's first clinical study on the combined use of the first component of the Sputnik V vaccine - the single-component Sputnik Light vaccine - and the AstraZeneca drug, which are taking place in Azerbaijan, demonstrate the absence of serious side effects and diseases after vaccination.

“Studies of the safety and immunogenicity of the combination of the AstraZeneca vaccine and the first component of the Sputnik V vaccine in Azerbaijan began in February 2021, to date, 50 volunteers have been vaccinated.

Interim analysis of the data demonstrates high safety indicators of the combined use of drugs: there are no serious adverse events, as well as cases of coronavirus after vaccination, ”the report says.

Gamalei, R-Pharm Group of Companies and AstraZeneca signed a memorandum of cooperation in the development of a vaccine against coronavirus.

According to Kirill Dmitriev, RDIF CEO, the partnership of vaccine manufacturers and the combination of different drugs plays a key role in successfully combating the COVID-19 pandemic amid the emergence of new strains of coronavirus. He recalled that RDIF was the first in the world to initiate partnerships with other vaccine manufacturers, based on the high efficiency of the “vaccine cocktail”.

“The first such partnership was a joint clinical trial with AstraZeneca. We look forward to their success in Azerbaijan and other countries, which will allow more effective implementation of vaccination programs and protect the health of people around the world. We consider it important to conduct joint research on combining the first component of Sputnik V with drugs from other manufacturers for a more effective fight against emerging new strains of coronavirus, ”he stressed.
