In his opinion, the former President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk made a "fatal mistake" when he "got rid" of nuclear weapons after signing the "meaningless Budapest Memorandum."

He believes that if Ukraine were a nuclear power, then at present they would talk and agree with Kiev “in a different way”.

The MP suggested that Ukraine, even if it did not serve nuclear weapons, "could have been reduced, but still leave its nuclear potential."

“We could blackmail the whole world, and we would be given money for service, as it is now happening in many other countries,” said Arahamia.

Earlier, Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk expressed the opinion that if Ukraine is not granted NATO membership, then the country may "think about nuclear status again."
