It was at lunchtime on Thursday that the police received several calls that a man in his 40s and a woman in her 50s were walking around with a parrot in a cage in central Hallstahammar.

Since the man and the woman are not believed to own a parrot, and that the police also had information about a parrot theft from an apartment in Surahammar on Wednesday evening, the couple was checked.

They were then expelled from the site.

The parrot turned out to be the parrot that had disappeared from an apartment in Surahammar the night before and it has now been reunited with its owner.

The police classify the crime as theft. In addition to the parrot, a guitar and food disappeared, among other things. The police state that it is unclear whether the incident for when the parrot was found will lead to any more police reports.
