The searches must have taken place in two patients' medical records on several occasions during the autumn of last year and during the winter of this year.

According to the indictment, it took place outside her service, but during questioning the nurse denies any wrongdoing and believes that the searches were work-related and were motivated with reference to her work tasks.

During questioning, the nurse says that she knows the regulations, but that there is a practice in the workplace which, among other things, means that staff borrow each other's login cards for the computers.

It is therefore not certain that she made all the illegal logins.

Logs were requested

The unit manager in the nurse's department became aware of the searches after she knew details that she should not have known.

This prompted the head of unit to request logs of the searches made by the nurse.

One of the patients demands SEK 5,000 in damages, while the other told the police that he was content with the woman being reprimanded.

The main hearing in the case will be held in mid-October.

Penalties for a conviction can be a fine or imprisonment for up to two years.
