Olle Larkö is Professor Emeritus of Dermatology at the Sahlgrenska Academy.

He likens sunbathing to addiction.

The body's reward system is triggered.

Endorphins are released.

 - You get a kick.

You become a little sun addict.

That is what we have problems with, he says.

Can be prevented

Skin cancer is the form of cancer that is increasing most in Sweden.

Despite the fact that, according to Olle Larkö, it can actually be prevented.

- Here we can actually prevent you from getting a fatal disease.

We know how to do it.

But we do not really do it.

But he points out that he does not want people to avoid the beach in the summer.

Just thinking about how long you are there.

- We do not want people to not be able to be outdoors with such boring weather we have the rest of the year.

But it's like driving a car.

If you drive in 90, it's ok, but not in 190. And we do not want people to drive in 190 on the beach.

So what is the right time on the beach?

- Maybe half an hour, an hour.

In the clip above, Olle gives some tips on how to protect yourself from the sun's ultraviolet rays.
