The Bobigny public prosecutor's office opened an investigation on Thursday after the degradation on Wednesday of the Bondy mosque in Seine-Saint-Denis, we learned from a judicial source, confirming information from France Bleu.

The investigation was entrusted to the local police station.

All my support for the #Bondy Muslim community whose mosque was vandalized yesterday.

I hope that the perpetrators of this cowardly and senseless act will be quickly found and brought to justice.

Let us remain strong and united in the face of intolerance.

The mayor LR of Bondy Stephen Hervé relayed the photos of the damage to the mosque where we see a broken French window and a damaged glass roof.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, in charge of worship, condemned “the unacceptable degradation that targeted (…) the Bondy mosque” and provided “support for Muslims in France” on his Twitter account.

The French Council of Muslim Worship (CFCM) for its part condemned "firmly the act of vandalism" and "expresses its total support for the leaders and the faithful of the mosque".
