The corresponding decree was published on the website of the head of state's office on Wednesday.
"Introduce Valery Fedorovich Zaluzhny, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to the staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine," the decree says.
It is noted that at the same time ex-Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak was expelled from the NSDC.
The decree comes into force on the day of its publication.
Earlier, Zelensky commented on the appointment of a new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other personnel changes in the country's defense.
