28 July 2021The dream of Camila Giorgi at the Tokyo 2020 Games ends at the Italian dawn: on day 5 of the Olympic tennis tournament that is being played on the concrete courts of the Ariake Tennis Park in the capital of Japan, the blue left the scene in the quarter-finals. On Court 1 Giorgi, 29 years old from Macerata, n.61 WTA, rookie at the Olympics, lost for 6-4 6-4, in just over an hour and a half of the match, to the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, n.6 of the ranking and 4 of the seeding, missing the goal of becoming the first Italian tennis player in the semifinal at the Games.
