  The Antitrust Authority has concluded the precautionary procedure relating to some clauses of the agreement between Tim and Dazn for watching the Serie A football championship matches in the three-year period 2021-2024. According to the Authority, in light of the measures presented by the two operators, there are currently no elements to intervene. These measures aim, as a whole, according to an Antitrust note, to avoid possible discrimination in the use of the Dazn service due to the activation of the service by users who use internet connection services other than those offered by Tim. In this regard, the Parties have indicated that from 1 August it will be possible to have Dazn contents with TimVision without the need to sign up for a subscription with Tim.In addition to maintaining full freedom in applying discounts and promotions, Dazn is committed to providing services for viewing the matches on digital terrestrial in case of connection problems. More generally, the assignee of the rights to watch all the matches of the Serie A football championship has guaranteed the use of the service to all users who have installed the Danz App, regardless of the reference operator, through specific technical initiatives for interconnection with network operators, making the necessary infrastructural investments. The Antitrust therefore closed the precautionary proceeding, deeming that the initiatives and amendments to the agreement by Tim and Dazn are suitable, at present,to prevent serious and irreparable damage to competition from occurring during the assessment procedure. At the same time, the Authority considers the measures adequate to ensure, in view of the start of the Serie A championship, that end consumers have the freedom to choose between the various alternatives available and that the best quality of service can be ensured.
