28 July 2021 Torchlight processions in 12 cities, from Trento to Palermo, and other events to say "no" to the mandatory Green pass. Demonstrations continue throughout Italy to protest against the government's decision that from 6 August made the green pass mandatory for a series of activities.

Initiatives, almost all born online, which are not, however, registering a great participation. The evening torchlight processions, also held simultaneously in Milan, Turin, Bologna and Padua, were organized by the "Free Choice Committee", a non-profit organization made up of "free citizens" who, as stated on their Facebook profile, defines themselves as "non-party, apolitical, open to anyone who intends to support full freedom of choice in health matters ".

In Rome, about a thousand people took part in the demonstration organized by the "Free Choice Committee" to protest against the mandatory use of the Green pass as ordered by the government. The event was born as a torchlight procession but the organizers explained that it will not be possible to light the torches because "the wax would dirty the square making the transit of pedestrians dangerous".

"We want to be free to do therapy or vaccination, we are not no vax - said one of the organizers -. Nobody can decide for everyone and make vaccination mandatory. Freedom has an inestimable value that cannot be exchanged for a green pass. in our daily activities. We want respect. " A long applause and a minute of silence for the disappearance of Dr. Giuseppe De Donno.

Some parliamentarians via the web also joined the event in Rome, in Piazza del Popolo. They are, among others, the Northern League Bagnai, Siri, Borghi and Pillon; the former M5s Paragone and Vittorio Sgarbi.

"I am here to express solidarity for a cause that is ours, for the freedom of choice. I am very pleased to see free citizens who are mobilized. None of us are no vax, we are 'pro free choice" says Claudio Borghi, Northern League deputy and former chairman of the Budget Committee of the House, who took part in the demonstration,
