Four different scenarios are considered, depending on the level of the epidemic.

The level 1 and 2 scenarios plan to keep the face-to-face lessons.

But from levels 3 and 4, an alternation between face-to-face and distance learning as well as gauges could again be introduced in college and high school.

For the primary sector, the rules remain the same as the previous year.

Classes will therefore be closed as soon as a case of

Covid-19

is detected.

A choice dictated by the health situation and the

fourth wave

affecting the country.

Keeping schools open while ensuring everyone's protection is such an essential issue.

Above all, the ministry's objective is to avoid

the repeated closures

experienced last year.

In the four possible scenarios, the mask will therefore be compulsory indoors from middle school.

Physical activities will be authorized but with distancing or prohibited indoors depending on the evolution of the epidemic.

Jean-Michel Blanquer has confirmed it: there will be a difference in treatment between vaccinated and unvaccinated students, starting from middle school.

"

In secondary education, only unvaccinated students will be ousted and will have to follow distance education

," the Minister of National Education said on

Franceinfo

.

The others will continue their face-to-face learning.

Regarding the work-study program (one group face-to-face, the other remotely), it will only be implemented in the worst-case scenario.

Vaccination centers near schools

The authorities also hope to achieve a maximum vaccination rate in secondary school.

“

6,000 to 7,000 vaccination centers

” will therefore be deployed from the start of the school year close to schools.

Vaccination is not made compulsory for teachers: "

At this stage it does not seem essential to us,

" explained the minister

.

The percentage of teachers getting vaccinated is very important, I think it has exceeded 80%,

 ”he said.

However, he left the door open if

the vaccination rate among teachers

did not reach a certain point.

This figure must go as far as possible towards 100% so that we do not have to go towards the vaccination obligation, it is the last resort.

If the percentage is too low of vaccinated teachers, we should go towards that,

 ”he continued.
