The Indian authorities have arrested a YouTube influencer after he posted a fake video promoting suicide in front of a train, aiming to gain views and earn more followers and money.

The Hindustan Times newspaper said that the young man, Irfan Khan, or as he calls himself "Iffy Khan", who has 44.8 thousand followers on YouTube, filmed the fake video on the railway lines between Bandra and Khar railway stations, and he fabricated the video to appear As if the train hit him and died, contrary to the truth.

The Indian police arrested Irrfan Khan from his home in Bandra under Sections 336 (Committing an act that endangers life and self) and 188 (Disobedience to order) of the Indian Penal Code.

He has also been impounded under Section 505(1) (publishes or distributes any statement with intent to incite) under the Indian Railways Act, and Sections 145 (nuisance) and 147 (trespass).

In police investigations, Khan said that he made the fake video to increase his online following and that he did such a stunt for the first time.

He deleted the video and posted another clip apologizing to the police and his followers, explaining that the video clip is a two-part work, and the second part was supposed to explain that death by suicide is not the solution to problems.
