Statistics issued by the Community Development Authority in Dubai showed that the total number of the category of unknown parentage incubated by families in the Emirate of Dubai, is currently 367 individuals of different age groups.

The statistic that Emirates Today obtained a copy of revealed that the number of incubated children who are no more than one year old is seven, while the total number of children under the age of 10 is about 77, or about 21% of the total number. .

The authority has set a number of conditions for approving incubation requests for children, which are studied by a specialized committee, which studies the eligibility of these families and ensures that they are able to carry out their duties and obligations towards the foster children.

The authority told "Emirates Today" that the total number of cases includes about 137 children between the ages of 11 and 17, while the number of people over the age of 18 is about 153.

The authority stated that since taking over the management of incubation operations in the Emirate of Dubai since 2013, it has received about 162 applications, of which 111 were approved after ensuring that they meet the conditions, adding that the total number of current cases includes old cases that were incubated before 2013.

The authority appealed to all families who had old requests that they did not complete, and every family who embraces a child illegally, to the need to follow legal procedures, stressing that their communication with the authority will ensure that their conditions are corrected and the child obtains his full rights, and stressed that the postponement of the communication and the settlement of his legal status In the future, it will be difficult for the child and disrupt his normal daily life.

It is noteworthy that the Community Development Authority in Dubai recently revealed the presence of 28 children currently in the "Family Village", aged between four and 18 years, expressing its hope that they will obtain foster families, able to provide them with a stable, safe and natural family environment, like the rest of the children in the society.

Completing incubation requests

■ Submit the required documents attached to the incubation application form.

■ A study of the family's social and psychological situation to ensure that it meets the conditions.

■ The comprehensive social study is submitted to the “Family Eligibility Committee” to decide on the requests, and the family is informed of the decision.

* Procedures for directing the incubation process are applied through:

■ Introducing the child and arranging the first meeting between the family and the child.

■ Develop a transition plan for the child.

■ Starting a trial period of incubation for a period of 6 months.

■ Issuing incubation and sponsorship decisions from the competent authorities.

5 Obligations that govern a foster family تحكم

■ Notify the Community Development Authority of any change in residential address or contact information.

■ Not handing over the foster child to another family without the approval of the Commission.

■ Not to relinquish the custody of the custodian until after notifying the Community Development Authority.

■ Disclose to the custodian his parentage in coordination with the Authority and in accordance with the conditions specified by the Executive Regulations.

■ Submit an annual medical report on the health status of the custodian in accordance with the executive regulations.
