15 women killed in six years - the police step up their work against violence against women in the Central region

In the Central region, over time, as many women are killed by violence from a close relative as young men are killed in gang conflicts, according to the police.

Casual assault cases are a crime category that places a heavy burden on the police investigation organization. 

Focus on the perpetrator

The police have previously strengthened with 50 police officers to work with this type of crime and improved the method for measures at the crime scene, says regional police chief Ulf Johansson.

- Now we take the next step and increase the focus on the perpetrator, we try to interrupt earlier so that the crime is not committed.
