According to parliamentarians, the amount allocated for the Eastern Partnership projects should be increased by almost € 14.7 million. Thus, this budget item could amount to more than € 714 million.

The MPs called for a number of political aspirations to be reflected in the financial package intended for the region.

One of them concerns the need to rebuild countries, allegedly due to the "destabilizing actions" of Moscow.

“A preventive solution to the issue of state and social sustainability, including economic recovery and integration in the light of Russia's destabilizing actions in the countries of the Eastern Partnership,” the amendments say.

In addition, politicians noted the importance of applying different approaches to the eastern neighbors, including in the formation of a "clearer path to future EU membership" and participation in the affairs of the European Union.

Earlier, the European Commission allocated about € 3.7 million for "expanding the possibilities of civil society" in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
