Resident of the Tomsk region will be tried for a photo of Goebbels in the "Immortal Regiment"

This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Prosecutor General's Office.

As noted, the Deputy Prosecutor General approved the indictment in the criminal case against Sergei Sakharov, accused of rehabilitating Nazism. 

According to the investigation, on May 7, 2020, as well as on May 2, 2021, in order to rehabilitate Nazism, a resident of the Tomsk region issued an application for a public demonstration to an unlimited number of people on the website "Immortal Regiment Online" photo of the head of the propaganda department of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP) Joseph Goebbels is on a par with the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

It is noted that Sakharov was aware of the role of Goebbels and his crimes during the Second World War.

The case was sent to the Tomsk Regional Court for consideration on the merits.

In November, a bill was introduced to the State Duma banning the display of images of war criminals and the dissemination of Nazi paraphernalia.
