“In our country, a fairly rapid recovery of key sectors of the national economy, the labor market, as well as abroad - now I just spoke on the example of the United States, - is also accompanied by an increase in inflation, which may not be so significant, but still goes beyond our targets,” Putin said.

He noted that different factors play a role here - both internal and external.

According to him, "the government and the Central Bank react accordingly both at the level of macroeconomic actions and sectoral regulation."

He stressed that it is important that all steps taken are "coordinated, verified and balanced."

“I am sure that this is how we will act,” the president added.

Earlier, the head of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said that it is still impossible to talk about a steady slowdown in inflation, although in June - the first half of July 2021 the first signs of a weakening of inflationary pressure appeared.

On July 23, the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia decided to raise the key rate to 6.5% per annum.
