In particular, Zelensky fired the first deputy head of the special service, as well as the head of the Anti-Terrorist Center Ruslan Baranetsky and the first deputy head of the SBU, the head of the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime Vasily Malyuk.

In addition, a number of changes were made in the department.

The office said that the main goal is "to ensure the readiness of the SBU for systemic transformation, which would correspond to the essence of the department's reform."

The bill on the reform of the SBU is in the Verkhovna Rada, the press service recalled.

Earlier, the ambassadors of the G7 countries in Kiev called on the Rada deputies to adopt a draft reform of the Security Service of Ukraine. The need to approve the bill was also stated by representatives of the EU, NATO and the United States, calling the document a step by Ukraine towards Western standards. Zelensky also noted the importance of this initiative.
