The first meeting of the 15th National Assembly of Vietnam elected Nguyen Xuan Phuc as the President of Vietnam on the morning of July 26 for a term of 5 years.

Nguyen Xuan Phuc was sworn in immediately after his election.

Nguyen Xuan Phuc was born in Guishan County, Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam, and joined the Communist Party of Vietnam on May 12, 1982.

Nguyen Xuan Phuc served as a member of the Political Bureau of the 11th and 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, deputy prime minister of the Vietnamese government, and prime minister of the Vietnamese government.

  The 14th National Assembly of Vietnam held its last meeting in Hanoi from March 24 to April 8. Wang Ting-hui was elected as the chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Xuan Phuc as the president of the country, and Pham Myong Ching as the prime minister of the government.

According to relevant laws in Vietnam, the term of office of the above-mentioned leaders should expire at the first meeting of the 15th National Assembly, and this meeting of the National Assembly needs to be re-elected.
