South Korea’s Central Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters said on the 25th that the anti-epidemic response measures outside the metropolitan area will be fully upgraded to the third level.

The new measures will take effect on July 27, local time, and end on August 8.

The government warned that if the anti-epidemic measures are not tightened in time, South Korea may face the most ferocious epidemic this summer.

Under the third-level epidemic prevention response measures, private gatherings are limited to 4 people at most, and the number of participants in collective activities such as weddings and funerals must not exceed 50; cafes, restaurants, karaoke rooms and other business facilities are not allowed to operate after 10 o'clock in the evening; sports events are required Limit the number of indoor and outdoor audiences to 20% and 30% of the accommodating capacity respectively; bookings for hotels and other accommodation facilities shall not exceed three-quarters of the total number of guest rooms.

With the arrival of the summer vacation, travel has increased, and the epidemic has spread rapidly in areas outside the capital.

At the beginning of this month, the number of newly confirmed cases outside the metropolitan area only accounted for about 10% of the number of new cases in the country. This proportion has increased to 40.7% on the 26th.
