The beating of a teenager on Friday afternoon was probably what triggered what became a giant fight in the square in Hjällbo the same day.
Two groups could be quickly distinguished.
Five of the accused can be linked to the Hjällbonätverket, which is supported by criminally charged people from a notorious family in northeast Gothenburg.
The other six belong to another well-known family in Hjällbo.
Cameras filmed the entire process
32 people were taken into custody during the riot at the end of May.
Three people were arrested immediately and further arrests followed quickly, much thanks to good footage from surveillance cameras.
Ten of the eleven who have now been convicted of violent rioting have been detained.
All eleven are thus sentenced to prison.
Riots were followed by murder
On May 30, just two days after the riot, a 44-year-old man was murdered.
That murder is believed to be linked to the riot.
A young suspect was arrested shortly afterwards when he was close to being lynched.
He is now in custody, suspected of, among other things, the murder.
