As reported by RIA Novosti, the potential number of households that may fall under the program is 3.795 million. The total cost of bringing gas to the boundaries of the sites is estimated at 567.55 billion rubles.

In June, President Vladimir Putin signed a law that would make it free to bring the gas network up to the borders of Russian land plots.

The head of state raised the topic of lack of access to gas for many households in the country in his message to the Federal Assembly.

According to experts, the initiative will remove part of the costs from the population and will allow to synchronize the actions of Gazprom and local authorities to create a gas transportation infrastructure within settlements.
