The current period is witnessing a boom in fraudulent advertisements on social media platforms, to sell IELTS and TOEFL certificates without studying, and those wishing to arrive within 72 hours.

Students confirmed that they resort to these advertisements after repeated attempts to take exams for either of the two certificates without achieving the required result, to enroll in a university inside and outside the country.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education introduced the EmSAT test to be among the conditions for admission to study at local universities, which replaces the international tests.

In detail, "Emirates Today" monitored a number of advertisements on websites and social media platforms, about the sale of "IELTS" and "TOEFL" certificates, including an advertisement that stated, "Hurry up to communicate, and do not hesitate, the opportunity of a lifetime is in your hands to obtain a TOEFL and IELTS certificate, without a test." Or attend, to the degree required of you, guaranteed and approved in all countries, to communicate and request via WhatsApp,” adding: “For the purposes of immigration, completion of study and promotion at work, join us to obtain an official, guaranteed and approved IELTS or TOEFL certificate.”

Another announcement invites those wishing to obtain TOEFL and IELTS to communicate via private Twitter, where certificates are provided without preparing for the test, at the lowest prices and to the required degree, and are approved.

And by phone, one of the promoters of the sale of certificates reported that the certificates were available, but he refused to complete the phone call, and asked to transfer it via “WhatsApp”, noting that the certificate is guaranteed and approved, and its duration is two years, and it is obtained within five days, at a cost of 4000 dirhams.

While another advertiser, from outside the country, stated that he sells the certificate for the amount of 3000 dirhams, and the person obtains it within 14 days, and if he wishes to obtain it in a shorter period, the amount increases to 3500 dirhams, stressing that the certificate is approved, because it will be done officially, as The test will be performed by an alternate person wishing to obtain the certificate.

The students, Omar Seif, Khaled Abdel Moneim, and Heba Jamal, said that they resorted to advertisements for the sale of the IELTS certificate to buy it online, to overcome the dilemma of passing university entrance exams and obtaining a score of (5) in the IELTS certificate or its equivalent, but they They failed the number of times they took the exam to get this certificate.

They pointed out that they contacted one of the advertisers of IELTS certificates, and he told them that they can be obtained for 3000 dirhams for the certificate, noting that they abandoned the idea in the end, to discover that there was fraud and this caused them to get into embarrassing situations with the University Admissions Department.

A female student, who preferred not to be named, stated that students are looking for agencies that sell IELTS certificates because of the conditions that some private universities place in front of students for admission or graduation, after completing specialization courses, by obtaining this certificate.

On the other hand, a source in a university in the country stated that the university has set levels in the English language for admission to each college, whether with a bachelor’s degree or postgraduate studies, especially that most of the courses at the university are taught in English, indicating that the university has established a training and qualification center for students in English language to achieve the required level.
