The first official Swedish Championships in skydiving was held at Gryttjom Airport outside Tierp in 1966. Today, fifty years later, it's time again.

- Last year we had to cancel completely due to the pandemic, but this year we are in a fairly minimized Swedish Championships, says Peter Törnestam, competition manager for this year's Swedish Championships in skydiving.

Honor the victims by jumping

Just over two weeks ago, nine people died in a plane crash at Örebro Parachute Club, but that does not stop the parachutists from competing - on the contrary.

- We have no special demonstration but we honor the victims by carrying out the Swedish Championships and that we parachute and continue, says Peter Törnestam.
