The Ministry announced the axes and objectives of the "National Policy for People with Autism Disorder", following its adoption last April, to form an integrated system of unified procedures and standards to provide easier services for people with autism and their parents, in addition to qualifying and raising the efficiency of specialized cadres working in specialized centers, and raising the level of The quality of the healthy environment there, enhancing community awareness of autism spectrum disorder, facilitating the integration of people with autism into public and private education, and ensuring their involvement in various fields.

The information issued in the “National Policy for People with Autism” document identified eight services that are available in a limited way at the level of autism treatment centers in the country, including an interdisciplinary assessment of cases (which is the assessment conducted by an interdisciplinary team on autism), health services, inclusion in nurseries, and inclusion In higher education, inclusion in vocational education, professional orientation tests, in addition to training for parents, and community awareness. As for the fully available services, they were limited to the services of self-support groups, at a time when information revealed a partial availability of early detection services for autism in early childhood, early intervention service, integration into school education, the availability of assistive technologies, as well as vocational rehabilitation programs and supported employment services, as well as a work environment examination service, in addition to self-advocacy services.It is noteworthy that the results of a recent survey conducted by "Emirates Today" revealed the support of 70% of the respondents to the fact that it is not possible to choose a well-known center based on a classification and evaluation issued by the competent authorities.

Last April, the Ministry of Community Development announced 14 initiatives included in the policy, within the framework of five axes related to diagnosis, health care, human resources, educational integration, awareness and community empowerment. The initiatives include the Diagnostic Manual of Autism, the National Developmental Survey Program, the opening of early intervention centers at the level of the Emirates, the development of healthy quality of life standards for people with autism, and the development of specialized programs in the field of autism, including specialized professional diplomas, and the training program for teachers. The initiatives also included the autism awareness electronic platform, the family empowerment program, the inclusive education policy, the inclusive transition guide, the creation of a supporting teacher job in public education, the provision of support services for students with autism through partnerships, the vocational rehabilitation program for people with autism, the sports and cultural integration program, and the program Job Empowerment.
