The Japanese Hifumi Abe, already double world champion, won his first Olympic gold medal on Sunday by winning in the final of the judo tournament of the Tokyo Olympics in the -66 kg category against the Georgian Vazha Margvelashvili, a few minutes after the coronation of his sister Uta Abe (-52 kg).

The Abe siblings, eagerly awaited for their home Games, have therefore succeeded in their incredible bet to bring back two gold medals, on the same day moreover.

His sister Uta, present not far from the tatami during her brother's final, did not fail to exult at the end of the fight.

A few minutes before her brother, she had also imposed herself, in the -52 kg category, by beating the French Amandine Buchard.

In the boys' category, the bronze medals went to South Korean Baul-An and Brazilian Daniel Cargnin.
