Reported by The Hill.

Texan Andrew Taake began chatting on the Bumble app with a girl with whom he shared a selfie from the storming of the Capitol on January 6.

He also said that law enforcement officers used force against him and sprayed the contents of pepper spray into his face.

The girl passed this information to the FBI.

According to the US Department of Justice, data from CCTV cameras testify to the opposite - the records show the participation of an American in attacks on police officers.

Taake is facing a number of charges in connection with his alleged participation in the storming of the Capitol and an attack on law enforcement officers.

Last week, the United States arrested another participant in the storming of the Capitol, known to the public for his appearance in a gladiator costume.

As of June 10, the number of those arrested during the storming of the Capitol reached almost 500 people.

A protest rally by supporters of the then current US President Donald Trump took place in Washington on January 6.

Subsequently, the event escalated into riots.

The demonstrators broke into the building of the Congress, where the procedure for approving the results of the presidential elections was taking place.
