The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the Tokyo Olympic Games has risen to 123.

The Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee announced today (24th) that 17 people, including one athlete and officials of the event, were confirmed.

As the cumulative number of confirmed cases rises, International Olympic Committee Chief Olympic Director Christoph Douby has warned of stronger sanctions against athletes and event officials who do not wear masks.

Director Doobi said in an interview with Kyodo News, "It is our duty to tell people who don't wear a mask, 'Please wear a mask,' but most of us forget about it. I will take it,” he warned.
