“According to the investigation, on the night of July 23 this year, near one of the multi-storey buildings in the city of Stavropol, unknown persons attacked a police officer, one of whom fired shots.

As a result, the police officer received gunshot wounds to his thigh and torso, and the attackers fled from the scene.

Later, the policeman died in the intensive care unit of the city hospital, ”the report says.

It is noted that the criminal proceedings were entrusted to the investigators of the first department for the investigation of especially important cases of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee in the Stavropol Territory.
