A man was sentenced at the Bordeaux court to a fine of 300 euros for having insulted several LREM deputies from the Gironde in favor of the health pass, we learned from the public prosecutor's office on Friday.

Several deputies, Catherine Fabre, Dominique David and Éric Poulliat, lodged a complaint after having been the target since July 19 of live comments or voice messages "aimed at trying to intimidate them in relation to government measures".

All described an individual "insulting and aggressive in his words".

The National Assembly on Friday adopted a new anti-Covid bill which provides for the controversial extension of the health pass in France.

The offense of threats has not been established

In Gironde, the investigation entrusted to the national gendarmerie quickly made it possible to identify and arrest on Thursday the suspect, a security agent residing in Mios, in the south of the department.

At the end of his police custody, he was referred to the Bordeaux prosecutor's office as part of an appearance procedure on prior acknowledgment of guilt (CRPC), to plead him guilty in the French style.

The respondent admitted the facts.

"He explained that he wanted to convey to the deputies the thoughts of the citizens and his fierce opposition to the sanitary pass, the vaccine being for him a poison", according to the prosecution.

He was sentenced to a fine of 600 euros including 300 euros suspended for acts reclassified as "insulting a person entrusted with a public service mission", the offense of threats not having been established.
