In the region of Yaroslavl, the regional capital and port on the Volga River, there are two villages of the same name, Petrizevo, which however belong to two different municipal districts and 25 kilometers away from each other.

A village calls for a tender for the construction of a road 620 meters long and 3 meters wide.

The contractor gets confused and begins construction of the road in the other village, removing the existing pavement of a perfectly tidy road and digging furrows. When asked by the astonished villagers ("What is the use of destroying the road?), The construction workers reply that they plan to make an even better one. A couple of days later, however, realizing they had the wrong village, the workers and machinery they move to the "right" village and start work again.

In the "wrong" village, however, a ruined road remains. To "put it back in place", however, the contractor asks the local administration for money, the expenditure not foreseen in the budget and which should cover the restoration costs to get the road back as it was before The local prosecutor is now investigating the case.
