For the first time in a month, the epidemic is indeed receding.
In Catalonia, new cases are dropping significantly and the peak of this latest wave was passed in the middle of the week.
A finding confirmed by researcher Gerard Jimenez, who analyzes the region's Covid data on a daily basis.
"It has been a little over a week since positive cases in young people and under 30s have dropped drastically. Even if it is true that we have had very high incidence rates. of comparable hospitalized patients, we had a mortality ten times lower than that of other waves. 53% of Spaniards fully vaccinated
Everyone here wants to be vaccinated.
The authorities do not need to beat the recall since 53% of Spaniards received both doses, 8 points more than in France.
And even if the decline has not yet started in hospitals, which remain under pressure, this change in trend is undoubtedly good news for the south of France.
