The region will send out a certificate to be signed by guardians.
But a 17-year-old who does not get his parental approval can still get the vaccine through a maturity assessment.
Produces a manual
It is not yet clear what such an assessment should look like.
The region is developing a manual for how to do this, but Ronny Lestander says that it will be a fairly simplified maturity assessment.
- We will follow the Public Health Agency's recommendations and right now it has been decided that people born -05 and later will be offered vaccines, so some 15-year-olds will also be offered vaccines, says Ronny Lestander, vaccine coordinator region Västerbotten and continues:
- Even young people from the age of 12 with risk factors are already vaccinated with a referral from a pediatrician, says Ronny Lestander, vaccine coordinator in the Västerbotten region.
There are currently no plans to vaccinate young people born before 2005.
