Weaker interest among young people to get vaccinated

In recent days, it has been reported from several regions in the country that vaccination interest is lower among young people than other age groups.

Region Östergötland opened up for the last age group in phase four, 18-24 years, in early July and so far there has been a lower pressure on booking than there has been in the older groups.

- Now that we have a vaccine, we want to encourage everyone to get vaccinated, says Kerstin Jonsson, vaccination coordinator in the Östergötland Region.

Also on Gotland, the booking pressure is somewhat lower in the group 18-29 years, which the region reports in its latest situation.

Want to reach out to young people

The Östergötland region has previously announced that there are several free times for vaccination.

Now the region is working to reach more young people, including through social media.
