Justice The judge again cites Bárcenas and his wife for the espionage they suffered in the 'Kitchen operation'
Judge
Manuel García Castellón
investigates whether the Ministry of the Interior paid with funds reserved to the prisoner whom Luis Bárcenas asked to access his recordings with senior PP officials. The instructor in the
Kitchen case
has ordered the Judicial Police to trace in the documentation held by the Deputy Directorate of Operations (DAO) if the Colombian inmate
Isidro Sánchez
was paid with public funds
to spy on the former treasurer of the PP.
In this way, the head of the Court of Instruction number 6 of the National Court expands the investigations to determine if the operation to spy on Bárcenas was extended to the interior of the Soto del Real prison (Madrid), where the former high-ranking official entered
popular
in 2013 after uncovering his hidden fortune in Switzerland.
Bárcenas himself told Judge García Castellón that during his first stage in prison he ordered this inmate to access his recordings and erase the one he supposedly had with the former Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.
The former treasurer explained that he made this decision to have a gesture with the leadership of the PP and redirect his relations with its members.
The Colombian prisoner, for his part, admitted the order, but assured that he gave the money that Bárcenas gave to a computer scientist and that he ended up keeping the money.
Therefore, always according to the version of this inmate, Bárcenas' mandate was never carried out.
