The director of the Department of Basic Education of the Ministry of Education, Lu Yugang, stated at a press conference of the State Council Information Office on the 21st that my country’s preschool education has achieved rapid development by leaps and bounds. The coverage rate of kindergartens reached 84.7%, effectively alleviating the long-standing problems of “difficulty in entering kindergartens” and “expensiveness in entering kindergartens”.
In the next step, the Ministry of Education will work with relevant departments to study, develop, deploy and implement relevant plans to further improve the level of universal preschool education.
By 2025, the national gross enrollment rate in the three years before school will reach 90% or more, and the coverage of inclusive kindergartens will be further increased.
