The first piece of advice if a bath toy or similar floats out to sea is not to swim after and try to pick it up.

It can be life threatening.

The Sea Rescue Society has now also produced stickers that you can put on your bath toys, surfboards, canoes or smaller boats.

- This is a sticker to be able to identify lost objects and then the person who finds the object can contact the owner before starting a large search campaign.

Then the whole effort is slowed down and we are told that there is no person missing so that we do not search blindly, says Fredrik Hagenkötter at Sjöräddningen in Ystad.

If rescue personnel find an object with a name, you can call the owner and in that way find out if anyone is missing.
